The 1970s gave us some sweet sweet chronographs, and vintage Heuer was at the top of that list. But 1971 was a famously rough year for Heuer, also not a great time for big tobacco… so what does one do? Team up! And the Autavia Viceroy was born - Heuer partnering with cigarette manufacturer Viceroy. It brought a new case design and some great pops of color to the dial. This one comes with its rarely found vintage Heuer NSA bracelet AND was just fully serviced, coming with a one year warranty! REFERENCE: 1163V SERIAL: 359XXX YEAR: app 1978 DIAL: Classic matte black, those great red accents, and beautiful lume plots. Some light wear can be seen on the hands up close, and a little bit on the plexi crystal, but all in presents about as close to mint as you’ll find on a nearly 50 year old example. CASE: 42MM stainless case appears unpolished with bright clean brushing and sharp lines. Light wear throughout, as expected, but looks awesome. It also wears very well even on medium sized wrists given the short lug to lug (photographed on my 6.6 inch wrist.) MOVEMENT: Just returned from a full service and will come with receipt and one year warranty. My watchmaker said the movement was like a time capsule, he doesn’t believe anyone else has ever touched it! So as you would expect after a full service it’s running beautifully, chronograph is nice and snappy, ready to wear. BRACELET/STRAP: Comes on the rarely seen vintage Heuer NSA bracelet. Usually found on leather strap because these bracelets command a pretty penny themselves. Bracelet has light wear throughout as well, will fit up to app 7.5 inches.
