Breitling Navitimer Chronomatic 1806 Cal. 12 48mm
I'm putting up for sale my Breitling Navitimer Chronomatic, reference 1806. This is a huge watch in today's standards and probably looked like a wall clock back in 1969. Featuring a waterproof case designed in collaboration with EPSA, slide rule rotating bezel, and powered by the cal. 12. I've had it for a year and a half now and it's time to let it go. Only the watch is included in the sale, no box or papers. Comes with a premium pigskin leather strap that really complements the watch and looks very similar to the straps of the era. It's sized at 130/80mm and should fit a wrist of 20+ cm in circumference. Will be able to help minimize import taxes on request. Returns No returns unless the watch is grossly misrepresented. Feedback I've been a relatively active member since September 2023, have introduced myself, have bought and sold a couple of things, and have an eBay shop with 120+ sales and 100% positive feedback. I can provide any form of identification that suits you: ID, LinkedIn profile, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Condition The following is me doing my best to describe what I see with the watch in hand, looking at the close up photos, and inspecting it under a 12x loupe. I'll cover any defect I can see, but please also inspect the photos yourself and let me know if you have any questions. Dial, mostly the black part, has patinated into a smoky look and with microscopic dots. To the naked eye they are very hard to see, but of course visible with a loupe or magnifying glass. White hour and minute hands and black chronograph minute hand show no signs. The orange chronograph seconds and minute hands are a little faded, with the minute hand showing the most fade. Printing is sharp and intact. Lume has patinated into a uniform brown-green color both in the dial and hands. Being tritium, they charge relatively bright with a UV light, but lose the charge almost immediately. Crystal has a small, clean chip on the edge next to 1 o'clock. Barely noticeable while wearing. The rest of the crystal is clean, but being acrylic, a polish with polywatch won't hurt. Case is in a really nice condition. No major scratches, dents or dings. Just light scratches from normal use and based on that and the overall geometry, I don't believe the watch to have been polished. Bezel rotates freely. One of the chronograph pushers has worn out and I'm not sure if it's a replacement or an original. Case back has the same scratches from normal use, but nothing major, and it retains its sharp edges and the etched writings. Movement looks good and keeps decent time considering the age and the fact that the service history is unknown. Winding seems smooth with no rub, date moves every 24 hours, and the chronograph functions all work. The only minor issue is that the chronograph minute hand doesn't reset exactly to zero. It registers the chronograph minutes correctly however. Timegrapher results show that it's losing 20 to 40 seconds per day, with a decent amplitude, but a high beat rate. A regulation of the balance may help in bringing it closer to zero, but being a 50+ years old movement, a service would be an even better idea. Timegrapher Results All the results measured with a Weishi 1000, on a full wind and the lift angle set to 50 degrees. Face up: -21 s/d, 246 amplitude, 6.6ms beat error Face forward: -40 s/d, 246 amplitude, 6.5ms beat error Face down: -40 s/d, 195 amplitude, 6.5ms beat error Showcase
