Originally, the Astronaut watches played a huge role in the space race of the 1960's - with the original tuning fork movement used in the classic watch eventually used in instrument panels for military spy planes. I won't bore you with a wordy history lesson on what made the Astronaut watches so damn cool (especially for their time,) but I will say that this modern re-issue is a true gem. Bulova/Accutron have released a handful of Astronaut reissues - but this one is a bit special, adorning the signature of legendary astronaut/space pioneer Buzz Aldrin. It was limited to just 1,000 pieces, with this being 963/1,000. It's a very comfortable watch with the flair to really be appropriate in any setting - but those who recognize the classic style will surely throw a nod of approval your way.
