Continuing my quest for car project funds, offering up my Zenith Rainbow Flyback 02.0480.405.
This is the earlier 1990s version with tritium hands and dial not later luminova. Fantastic multi faceted, multicolour dial with all original tritium. These watches were supposedly created to answer a French air force request for a new pilot watch but the order was cancelled before delivery. Could be an apocryphal tale, but, hey, everyone loves a good back story. Fitted with the iconic Zenith El Primero movement, one of the very first ever automatic chronograph movements and used for many years in the Rolex Daytona. Here the El Primero movement is fitted with a flyback function for quick timer resetting when in a barrel loop over enemy territory. Or something. Unmarked dial and hands, original red/black bezel in excellent condition, small scratch at 40, never noticed on the wrist but visible in these photos. On the lovely OEM Zenith bracelet which fits a 7.5 inch wrist.
Great wrist presence and you won't often bump into someone else wearing this watch.
Fully serviced November 2021, including replacement of the flyback lever with the much improved Zenith update. All functioning perfectly. Service receipt included in sale.

Just added another dial photo as realised I had not fully reset the second hand and it is slightly off 12 in the earlier photos. It resets perfectly to the 12🙂
