The horological contributions of Jaeger-LeCoultre are well documented - the watchmaker’s watchmaker. But outside of the iconic Reverso there’s a little less focus on their design history. A mistake, as proven by this crazy cool 70s-funk-meets-Brutalism jumbo tonneau hand wound watch. Has to be one of the more unique pieces I’ve come across in a while, like a twisted boulder on your wrist. One you’re not likely to see on another wrist, and just fully serviced with a 1 year warranty! DIAL: Brushed gray/silver dial with oversized Roman numerals. Almost a linen dial with vertical brushing that pops in the light. A speck or two under macro but all in presents mint. CASE: Jumbo for the time, and still a great modern size at 31MM x 44MM (photographed on my 6.6 inch wrist.) Steel with a brushed finish throughout - as if titanium and poured concrete had a baby! Only light wear from the over years, looks fantastic. MOVEMENT: JLC hand wound movement (same base supplied often to Vacheron Constantin) just fully serviced by my watchmaker and comes with a 1 year warranty. STRAP: Vintage black Downing lizard strap with matching Downing buckle. Has wear but still looks great and wears beautifully - very thin and soft. ACCESSORIES: Watch on strap with service receipt.
