Let’s get some watches onto wrist for the holidays!*** We love the Rolex Submariner for so many reasons, I mean Bond, James Bond, of course, and also because it’s THE ultimate tool watch! The no date two liner Sub gets extra love because it’s just so darn clean! And perhaps the cleanest of them all is the “Swiss only” dial. These were only done for about 1.5 years, mid 1998 through late 1999, when Rolex was transitioning from tritium lume to luminova. It’s a tiny detail, sure, but isn’t that what this awesome watch thing is all about?! REF: 14060 SERIAL: A172XXX DATE: 1999 DIAL: Hard to add much that hasn’t been written about and drooled over for decades! It’s a classic for a reason… well, many reasons! From the 2 line black dial to that Mercedes hour hand… and here seen with the offer mentioned simple “Swiss” marking. All original, and the luminova still lights up beautifully! Bezel has a few very faint marks, only one noticeable at the top, but all in one of the cleanest nearly 25-year-old examples I’ve found! CASE: Crisp and clean 40mm case with great original lines, nice brushing on the thick lugs, with them beautiful chamfers still present! Wear throughout, as you would expect, mostly seen on the polished sides and a bit on the bottom lug, but all in looks FANTASTIC! CRYSTAL: Sapphire crystal in great shape with a few tiny faint marks seen under a loupe - all in it’s great and shows off that stunning dial perfectly. MOVEMENT: Under the hood is equally iconic Rolex cal 3000 automatic movement. It’s a beast. A workhorse. Service history is unknown, but very clean and timegrapher numbers are great at 9 sec/day and a 271 amplitude.
