The Patek 5226 reference was inspired by the Patek 1940's "Night Watchman" (Patek Philippe - Geneva Watch Auction: FOUR Geneva Friday, November 11, 2016 | Phillips).

Patek Philippe has revisited this by adorning the flanks with a Clous de Paris hobnail pattern typical of the Manufacture. So as to enable this guilloched motif to continue around the entire caseband, the designers have also devised a distinctive case construction in which the lugs are an integral part of the case back.

This new model is driven by self-winding Caliber 26-330 S C powering the hours, minutes, central seconds, aperture-type date and stop-seconds mechanism. This new reference is teamed with two interchangeable straps: one in beige calfskin with a nubuck finish and the other in black calfskin with an embossed fabric motif and beige topstitching.

DIAL: Textured charcoal gray, black gradient rim, gold applied numerals with beige luminescent coating.
CASE: White gold. Sapphire crystal case back. Water-resistant to 30 m. Diameter: 40 mm. Height: 8.53 mm.

This example is on a long waiting list at all USA Patek Authorized Dealers.

Price: $39,995 by wire plus label OBRO. That makes this the least expensive example of this model that I can find in the world.

My reason for selling is that I am purchasing a specific type of automobile that has been on my "dream" list -- and I need the funds from this watch to facilitate that purchase. Otherwise, I would love to keep this watch, but I have to make a choice this time.
