The Cartier Tank Americaine was introduced in 1989 as a modern iteration of the vintage Tank Cintrée from the 1920s. It is characterized by a dramatically elongated case, and a more pronounced ergonomic curve that hugs the wrist. Cartier’s signature Roman numerals and railroad track follow the curves of the case resulting in a coherent look that spells pure sophistication. I wear this on my 6.5 in wrist and t fits beautifully. This is the best size for these Americaine watches as the more recent versions are quite huge with the longer case shape. This IS the best Americaine of the lot IMO! I have it on a custom-made Camille Fournet glossy alligator strap (amazing and 300.00 value) and I have the original Cartier strap and 18K white gold buckle as well. Watch is overall great condition.
