Time to rationalise the collection a little and owning two birth year Speedmasters might be a little too much. Another, NOS example stays, and this lovely beater can go. So, here's a great opportunity to step into the (neo) vintage Speedmaster world with lots of tritium charm. Perfectly wearable for every day use and quite recently serviced.

Please find an assessment of the watch below. I have attempted to be as brutally honest as can be. Also note that I am certainly not the first owner of this watch. Hence I cannot guarantee originality of parts, although after having handled dozens of 80s and 90s Speedmasters, this one comes across as being unmolested.

Dial: The original dial with all lume plots perfectly in tact. The lume has aged to a very attractive, eggshell shade and has lost most of its luminous qualities as one would expect of a ±40 yrs old piece. Dial body colour is very slightly anthracite. The printing is perfectly okay too.

Hands: Original. As many 80s Tritium Speedmaster hands, the lume is a little darker.

Case: Nice fat case with sharp edges. It looks unmolested but certainly shows signs of wear including some superficial dents in the top right lug. Some hairline scratches but overall in very good condition. Caseback is in perfect order with the writing in very sharp condition.

Bezel: Original bezel (B2) in reasonable condition. No major damage although the edge of the aluminum insert is missing some small chips of black paint.

Movement and Serial: A trusty 861 manual wound movement with a serial in the 46877xxx range. Even though there is no extract, I am pretty sure it has been produced in the period of 1983, 1984 or 1985. Omega made a bit of a mess of the serial ranges in those years and without an extract it is impossible to be 100% sure. The movement has been serviced in december 2022 and a proof of service is coming with the watch.

Needless to say, it runs and winds smoothly with all functions working properly.

Bracelet: A vintage 1171/1 with 633 end links in reasonable condition. It currently fits a 16,5cm to 18,5cm wrist circumference as it is. The bracelet some stretch and plenty of life left within it.

Package: Watch only. Well, plus the service invoice and replaced mainspring, that is.

Shipped worldwide at buyers expense, although I would strongly prefer a F2F deal in the Netherlands given the value of this piece and the added benefit of meeting a fellow OF-member in person.
