Up for grabs is this vintage Seiko 6309-7040 Turtle. Serial number dates to May, 1979. Watch is all original except for a new reproduction Z22 strap that I installed to facilitate taking photos. [Link to additional images and timestamp.](https://imageshack.com/a/uhO17/1) Without question, the value of this watch lies in the perfect, evenly patina’d dial and hands, which have aged to a very slight buff hue. The crown tube threads are in great condition and the crown screws down several full turns as it should. Similarly, the bezel action is like new, with healthy clicks in both directions. Unfortunately, the hardlex crystal is also original, and it has many scratches. I considered having it replaced, but ultimately, I’ll leave that decision to the new owner. The case also has many scratches, nicks, and dings like you would expect with a 45-year-old unpolished piece. I don’t know the service history or if it’s ever been serviced, for that matter. That said, these 6309s are tough and this one is still running pretty well as-is according to my timegrapher. Also, the power reserve is about 45 hours after a full wind. Note that this watch has not been pressure tested. Asking $499 or best reasonable offer. Includes free shipping within the United States.
