This incredibly rare 1971 IWC Yacht Club Ref. R811 features a gorgeous green marble dial and color-matched date wheel, both of which are in excellent condition exhibiting no noticeable corrosion or deterioration. The aventurine texturized shade is said to have been a design experiment from IWC’s supplier and made in just a handful of pieces in this green color. The watch has a screw-in caseback and a waterproof crown to increase waterproofness. It is characterized by a special rubber between the movement and the case to create an impact-resistant structure.  It is powered by the robust IWC calibre 8542, the same used in the 812 Aquatimer with the renowned Pellaton winding system. The movement was professionally overhauled by Fire Kids in Japan in October 2024. The 36.5mm case is sharp, but with light surface wear (minor scratches, dings, and swirls, but no significant damage). The original fish crown, bracelet, and clasp are still present. The original Gay Freres bracelet has some scratches and stretching throughout.
