For sale is my Omega Speedmaster hesalite sandwich, circa 2000. This is the best configuration Speedy, if you ask me; you get the warm, original hesalite crystal like the OG moonwatch, but when you flip it over, instead of seeing a boring steel caseback, you instead get a lovely view of the beautiful rhodium plated 1863 hand wound movement, which is stunning!
I’ve owned this watch for about a decade and have loved every minute of it.
It is in good to very good condition, considering it’s almost a quarter century old. It keeps good time and chronograph works great and zeros out perfectly.
Luminova Lume is good for a Speedy.
There are a few hairline scratches on the hesalite crystal, but it isn’t noticeable unless you look for them. I understand you can polish them out with toothpaste, though I never bothered enough to try.
The back of the lugs show the most scratches from strap changes and have been there since I bought it, though I probably did a couple of them myself. They look worse in photos, honestly.
Sides and case are in great shape:
Also, it hasn’t been to space, but it got pretty close:
It also works while inverted:
Comes with Omega travel case as the only box, official Omega spacesuit strap, and a no name dark, dark brown leather strap (looks black, I think it might be Worn & Wound, but not sure). No papers.
Asking $3499 to me, via Zelle, PayPal or Venmo, you cover fees. I’ll cover UPS insured shipping in the states. US sales only, please, unless you have a lot of good references on this site, and you cover actual shipping costs. No trades, please, I’m funding a new watch. PM me if you’d like more pictures.
Thanks for looking and blue skies!
