For sale is a true classic — the Universal Geneve Compax ref. 22493. With a serial number suggesting manufacture during the mid 1940s, this stainless steel Compax has recently been serviced and is operating smoothly. Given its age, it isn’t entirely without faults, showing typical minor dings to the case and patina to the dial. It is all original with the exception of the top pusher, which has been replaced. The replacement pusher is somewhat smaller than the original, causing some play between it and the case. These imperfections are minor and merely cosmetic, having no impact on the watch’s excellent appearance and functionality. At 35mm, this all stainless steel Compax contains the heralded UG cal. 285 movement. The hands are not only all original, but the hour and minute hands are still fully lumed. (It’s possible they were re-lumed at some point; I simply do not know.)
