Airain was one of the selected suppliers, along with Breguet and Dodane, of the Type 20 model for the French Army.  This version of the Type 20 was produced just before the brand changed hands in 2020.  Recently Airain has moved upmarket and produces watches selling in the $3000+ price range.  They also recently collaborated with French artist seconde seconde on a wild version of The Type 20. Type 20 refers to a specification for pilots chronographs issued by the French Ministry of Defense.   This watch is powered by a Hattori (Seiko) VK64 Meca Quartz chronograph movement.  It is basically a quartz movement with a regular mechanical chronograph added to it. One of the noticeable differences between a mecha quartz and a straight quartz chronograph is in the sweep second hand.  When the chronograph is running in a mecha quartz, is steps at 4 times a second instead of once a second,  so you’ll notice a smoother sweep.  Then, when the second hand returns to the 12 o’clock marker, it snaps back instantly like a mechanical chronograph as opposed to the typical slow return on a standard quartz only chronograph. This watch comes in 41.5 mm wide and 15 mm thick. It’s all stainless steel with a sapphire crystal and a unidirectional bezel. The watch comes on a tan quick release leather strap which matches the fauxtina of the Arabic numerals.  The watch is completely unworn and exactly as I received it.   **Price:** $99 + $10 shipping CONUS.  Not interested in trades at this time.   Feel free to ask any questions.  I've bought and sold many times here on e/Watchexchange.
