The OG Omega Seamaster 300 is an icon, within Omega’s history sure but within tool watches in general. Long regarded as the purest form of the Seamaster, the original 300 brings so much 60s charm to the table. You don’t see as many of these come up for sale, and this one is a survivor with a whole lot of Wabi-sabi awesomeness! REFERENCE: 165.024 SERIAL: 24,719,XXX DATE: 1966 DIAL: This has aged with a lot of character, developing great colors to the lume, all lighting up evenly under UV, including the bakelite bezel. Of course it has wear throughout but looks great - LOVE the sword hour hand! There’s some degradation of the lume plot by 3 but it’s still present and lights up under UV as well. The bakelight bezel has wear throughout including some chips and cracks. All in it’s solid, and just great to find complete! CRYSTAL: Vintage plexi crystal has wear throughout, but I believe it to be original, including the floating Omega symbol in the center, and still presents well. CASE: Nice 41mm stainless case with original lines showing wear throughout, as you’d expect given the age. Still looks very sharp, and engraving on the case back is still present. Non-screw down crown is correct for the age as well. It’s cool to see the original iteration of those classic curved Seamaster lugs! MOVEMENT: Service history unknown but running well, keeping good vintage time with timegrapher showing 22 seconds a day with an amplitude of 212. Happy to have it regulated by my watchmaker prior to shipping to the new owner. BRACELET: Often found only on strap or NATO, this comes with the correct Omega bracelet and end links. This one is a bit newer than the watch itself, but the 1171 bracelet with 633 end links is correct for the reference and looks fantastic! It’s large, fits up to app 8 inches. Also comes with a brown suede Veblenist strap that pairs beautifully. ACCESSORIES: Watch on bracelet with added strap, and previous owner purchased from a collector through eBay, so comes with their authenticity card as well.
