Inspired by Seiko’s iconic 1970 “Naomi Uemura” Ref 6105 watch, worn by the Japanese explorer during many of his expeditions, the SLA061 Limited Edition takes its design cues from the original, with updates including a unique black-coated stainless steel case, the in-house Caliber 8L35 movement, and was released as a limited production run of 1000 numbered pieces.

The Seiko Prospex 1970 Heritage Divers Black Series Ref SLA061 features a stainless steel black hard coated 44mm case with a unidirectional rotating bezel with a black aluminum insert with a 60-minute scale. The black dial features a ripple pattern, designed to represent sand ripples on the sea floor, with applied markers filled with cream-colored lume and orange accents on the dial and an orange seconds hand. A date wheel is present between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. Powered by the in-house Caliber 8L35 movement, produced at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio, where movements for the Grand Seiko line are created, the SLA061 features a 50-hour power reserve with a water resistance rating of 200 meters.

This Seiko Prospex 1970 Heritage Divers Black Series Limited Edition Ref SLA061 in number 194/1000 pieces produced. This SLA061 includes the outer and inner boxes, box sleeve, warranty booklet, warranty card,
instruction manual, hangtag, additional black rubber strap, and black-coated stainless steel bracelet. Some wear is present on the case and bezel, visible in the photographs.
