Credor (Seiko) Vintage Japanese Quartz Watch - 14K solid gold bezel, box/manual. For sale is a lovely vintage Credor Japanese Quartz Watch with super hard alloy case and a 14K solid gold fluted bezel and original box/manual. Credor is Seiko's high-end line, making some of the most luxurious watches of this watch's era and still today. Seiko was deep into materials research in the era; the watch case is made from a proprietary super-hard alloy (marked "SHA" on the caseback) that keeps a beautiful sheen and maintains lovely sharp edges. The finely fluted bezel is made of solid 14k gold which has a rosy colour. The crown has a small black cabochon. The original crystal is in great shape, and the watch body is in fabulous condition as a whole. The case width 26mm without crown and 34mm tall (lug-to-lug measurement), and wears very masculine given the rectangular 'tank' with pristine sharp beveled edges. Most impressively, the watch measures LESS THAN 4MM THICK! An incredibly feat of design and engineering, and very fitting of a finely crafted dress watch. The watch is mounted on an aftermarket brown leather strap. The case back features an engraving from "K to M" from 1984. The vertically-brushed grey dial great condition and is wonderfully dynamic in the light. I suspect the index at 12 is an applied solid gold marker; possibly the hands as well. Both the hands and 12 index are very well finished to create an illusion of depth on such an incredibly thin watch. While I love this watch, it deserves a more loving home!
