Description and condition.** I truly believe this watch needs very little introduction. Rolex Datejust 36mm reference 1600, which is not as common as the 1601 and 1603 references. Even more uncommon is a DJ with a blue dial and in this condition. And even MORE uncommon is a Sigma Dial version. I am the second owner of the watch. The watch was purchased from a nephew of the original and only owner who passed away a few years ago. The gentleman wore the watch regularly but was very careful with it as he had an office job, and he got it serviced one time. His nephew inherited the watch and serviced it, however he was not really a watch guy and seldom wore the watch. Selling this watch is one of the hardest watch-related decisions I have to make. It is a unique watch, all original, in great working order for its age, and it proves that an old Rolex with proper service can outlast us. 2.9XX.XXX serial number places this bad boy in 1969 or 1970, and sometimes 1971, depending on who you believe; the serial is intact, just whited out for the pics. ​ The watch is in fantastic shape for a vintage piece. I am not totally sure if this watch was polished; some days I believe it was not, and some days I feel it was very lightly touched; but regardless of that, the case is VERY strong and has great and SHARP angles and shapes, please see the pictures. It comes with its original 555 end links and jangle jubilee 62510H with clasp stamped A and with the coronet and has stretch. I always have worn it either with a Tudor Oyster 7836 folded link bracelet or with leather straps, and sometimes NATOS. The Tudor strap and Tudor end links ARE NOT part of this sale. If the buyer wants them (this is THE best Oyster bracelet for the 36mm DJ’s) we can discuss it. The watch and original Rolex jubilee are original to the watch. As the watch was serviced, it has a Rolex replacement crystal with a few swirls here and there, which I will leave up to the buyer if he/she wants to use Polywatch to polish it a bit. Timegraph readings are there and show the movement in great working order. The case shows some signs of wear, like you expect on a vintage watch this age, but it is in great shape.
