I am selling my rare Habring^(2) Doppel-Felix chronograph with split-seconds and date complication, in steel with rose gold hands and markers. I’ll be sad to see this go, but I’m looking to reduce my collection and raise money for other endeavors. **Watch Details and Condition** * Silver Dial with date complication, rose gold hands and hour markers * Serial #50 * Comes with original wooden box, paper/booklet, and spare parts * Comes with original leather strap (which has never been worn) * I am the only owner, and I’ve taken great care with this watch. I’ve worn it sparingly (less than 20 times) since I purchased it from an authorized dealer in February 2021. No dings and no dents, but there are a couple of light surface scratches. In summary, the split-seconds chronograph movement is an absolute triumph in horology, made entirely in-house, by one of the all-time great independent watchmakers. I consider Habring^(2) to be an “if you know, you know” watchmaker, and this is my favorite of their models. If you haven’t gone down the rabbit hole on this maker, I encourage you to read more about them – it’s incredible what they have been able to accomplish independently since Richard left IWC in 1996 to start Habring^(2) with his wife, Maria. Here is a quick summary of the split-seconds chrono function, from the Hondinkee article: “To briefly recap, a split-seconds chronograph has the chronograph seconds hand, and the split hand, mounted on the same axis. With the chronograph running, the two hands advance together but when the split button is pressed, a pair of pincers grab the split hand wheel, freezing it in place, while the chronograph seconds hand continues to advance. Press the split button again, and the split hand wheel is freed; a heart-cam mechanism realigns the split hand with the seconds hand, and the two continue to run together until the chronograph is stopped.” [Here is a great video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbcnfHAjgFE) showing the Doppel-Felix complications in action. As you can imagine, putting this kind of complication together, in an in-house movement, is quite a feat. And it feels absolutely spectacular in person.
