Continuing to clear out some of my collection, and here's an absolute gem. It's a late-90s Grand Seiko SBGF029 with a coveted 8J movement. But my favorite thing about this watch is the gently textured dial (see pics). These movements are the precursors to the 9F with all the thermo-compensation and finesse of their modern counterparts. In fact, some folks prefer the 8J because they (apparently) have better battery life and accuracy. The condition of this one I'd classify as excellent. It runs perfectly, got a service about 6 years ago by a Seiko dealer in NYC (lost paperwork), crystal and dial are flawless, very light signs of use. I picked this up in Tokyo about 8 years ago. Back then, I paid roughly US$800. They comp for around $700 now on eBay (before tax + shipping). Selling because I don't wear it a whole lot these days, and I need to clear out some of my collection.
