For sale or for trade from my personal collection is my Movado X Zenith President Kingmatic ‘S’ Steel Automatic Incabloc Francois Borgel. It is in pre-owned condition. Please examine pictures for details. (Notable scratch on the top left side of dial, most imperfections shown in pictures appear to be lint on the inner side of the crystal) The timepiece is co-branded showing both Movado and Zenith labels depicted on the dial, however, you can speculate that this piece was strictly for the U.S. market due to ‘Movado’ being on the dial. If you were to go by The Movado History book to date this piece, it would indicate that this piece was possibly manufactured from 1966-1970 and possibly sold anytime between and after. The case was designed by the famous Francois Borgel case maker company. Within the case, you will find stamped FB 🗝️signifying the company’s signature. The case is an Incabloc design meaning that the case is one single piece. The movement comes out through the front of the case. The piece comes with its original crown which by design is sunken into the case. It pulls out into two positions; the first adjusting the time, 2nd adjusts the date quickset. The bracelet can be taken off and a leather strap could be worn but I am not willing to sell either separately due to how special and rare both are. Originally designed to be waterproof, I advise not submerging this piece in water as the water resistance surely isn’t reliable. The ‘S’ stands for surf which was Movado’s old designation for different levels of water resistance that the brand had (Surf, Sub-Sea, Super Sub-Sea). The movement is a cal 387 which Movado stopped producing by 1970 as it was replaced by the cal 407 movement. Because this piece was possibly manufactured between 1966-70, one may speculate that this timepiece was made under the original Movado (Ditesheim) company before their merger with the Zenith (watch) company if not at least during Zenith’s first year of the merger. The 387 movement was a 17,000 vibrations per hour movement. It when later replaced by the 407 movement which vibrates at 36,000 per hour. Thus, you may potentially find subsequent Movado president models with ‘HS 360’ printed on the dial.
