Here for your consideration is a 1969-1970s Hamilton Chrono-Matic Cal. 11 (Ref. 11002-3) Panda Dial and a chance to own a piece of watchmaking history as the movement Cal.11 that powers this watch is believed to be the first automatic chronograph movement. In the 1960s many major watch companies were competing to create the first automatic chronograph movement; the main competitors were the Buren group consisting of (Breitling, Hamilton and Heuer), Seiko and Zenith. For more info please read Project 99; long story short, the Buren Group consisting of Breitling, Hamilton and Heuer came out victorious and so the Cal 11 movement was born. This specific watch the 11002-3 Chrono-Matic is also believed to have one year production time run so making this watch even more collectible. The first thing you might noticed is the beautiful Panda Dial and the unusual left sided crown. Condition: ALL ORIGINAL. For a watch that is half a decade age; I’d say the condition is Excellent and probably one of the best Chrono-Matic 11002-3 Pandas out there! As shown on the image ALL the Lume Pips are still intact and still GLOWS! Although not long (If you’ve seen other examples of this ref. most Lume Pips on the hours mark and hands are fallen off and does not glow). As one would expect for a 50+ years old watch; There are many scratches (few dents marks) throughout the watch. Scratches on the Plexi Crsytal too. It also comes with its original Bracelet that is super clean and seems as if it’s been used only a few times. (Please see ALL the images) Functionality: ALL Hands STARTS and STOPS Perfectly, Crown wins and sets the watch perfectly, Crown pops out and back into the case perfectly. Power Reserve runs strong. Both Chrono Pushers works perfectly. Service History: Purchased this from a reputable vintage watch collector from French and told me the watch was recently serviced 7 months prior.
