For sale is an Omega Speedmaster Professional "Moon Watch" 3572.50.00. It has an integral stainless steel Omega link bracelet with a double deployant push-release clasp, and a Hesalite crystal. There is a sapphire display back engraved with "FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON" "SPEEDMASTER PROFESSIONAL". This watch is known as the “Hesalite Sandwich” and the caliber 1863 is more ornately decorated than the variant in the regular version (caliber 1861), as it is constantly on display through the watch’s sapphire caseback.

The 42mm diameter solid three-body case, lyre lugs, and bracelet are polished/brushed. The dial is black with luminous baton hour markers around a minute/one-fifth seconds perimeter scale, luminous baton hands, and a center sweep chronograph hand with a luminous arrow tip. There are three black subsidiary dials including a constant small seconds register at the 9 o'clock position, a 12-hour totalizer at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute sub dial is at 3 o'clock. It's water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet, and it has a power reserve of 48-hours at full wind. The 14mm thick case, dial, and movement are all signed.

The mechanical manual winding Omega caliber 1863 movement is rhodium-plated. It's constructed with 18 jewels, a shock absorber device, and a straight-line lever escapement. It includes a monometallic balance, a self-compensating flat balance spring, and a micrometer regulator. The movement had a full service at “All World Systems” in Sacramento in November of 2020. The watch is keeping time approx. -4 sec/day (crown up) and all functions are working perfectly.

I purchased the watch from the original owner, a Microsoft engineer in Seattle. It was his daily wearer and the case has many fine scratches and marks showing use over 20 years. My watchmaker very lightly touched up the case and it looks pretty good. There is a large ding in the side of the case at the 10 o’clock position, but you can’t see this mark when wearing the watch.

The watch will fit a 7” wrist or smaller with an increased expansion at the clasp by 3.5mm. I do not have any extra links.

I’m going to sell this watch along with a few others. Too many Omega’s sitting around not being worn. It’s time to pass them on to other watch enthusiasts.
