Truly excellent condition ‘automatic Bond’ Seamaster ref 2531.80 . Asking $2300 including shipping in the US. Sorry, not looking for trades. This is the automatic chronometer 41mm version of the GoldenEye watch (which was the quartz model) and featured in Tomorrow Never Dies. So many of these are chewed up and scratched, there are only a few tiny marks on the bezel insert that can only be seen by angling the watch under certain light conditions. Perfect Luminova dial still glows a bit, hands match perfectly. Seconds hand still has its bright red tip (which seems to have faded on many of these). Keeping chronometer time as originally designed, this watch comes with its original bracelet (7” length) and this cool vintage-style Rios1931 strap with a couple red accents that really suit the watch. This looks awesome on a mesh bracelet (not included, but I can show you a number of places to buy them for around 50 bucks) and is a super cool, authentic alternative to the new Bond 60th Anniversary model! Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
