Actus was introduced as a premium sub-brand of Seiko like the Alpinist or the Prospex brands of today. Actus variant had a higher jewel movement and marketed as “young, activity line”, compared to the standard Seiko 5. The date changing mechanism of the movement is very unique. The date will change by pressing the crown inside.
