Today we have for sale a magnificent vintage Audemars Piguet Day-Date Moonphase Ref. 25589OR from 1991 in solid 18ct unpolished rose gold case featuring beautiful calendar complications laid out on an exuberantly rich and flawless handmade enamel dial (they truly don’t make them like they used to). The dial captivates the eyes turning into this beautiful cream color under certain lighting, not letting the wearer take this beauty off even for a millisecond. The blued hands are a treat to watch. The moon-phase is finished to the last detail. Truly, a marvel. Originally retailed on December 17, 1991 as per the certificate. The 33.5mm 18ct rose gold case, according to AP, was produced 1/50 compared to the yellow gold variant and is extremely, extremely rare, such that this is perhaps the only rose gold one available for sale worldwide. The case is super sharp and unpolished bumping up the rarity. Most of the ones currently available elsewhere are rigorously polished. Lastly, the automatic AP Cal. 2124 was serviced by AP on September 6, 2023 and had been issued a certificate of authenticity that the client lost while moving countries. Luckily, they had a photo which will be shared with the buyer. The watch will be provided with its 18mm factory burgundy crocodile leather strap and the 18ct gold buckle. I would recommend a new strap for this beauty given the almost 33 years of age of the original strap. Please note: the black strap currently on it belongs to my wife’s watch and was utilised for temporary pleasure only.
