Case: One of just 2,070 reference 5548/25548 in yellow gold, with the “early case” (caseback, pushers, and hallmark) and correct “C” serial aligning with the 25548 reference, 1987 date on the insert, the moon phase calendars from 1987 through 1995, and “SWISS MADE” dial configuration. The case appears to be unpolished with exceptional lug and finish definition, highlighted by the horizontally brushed mid-case band and vertically brushed side profile of the lugs. All hallmarks and engravings are extremely sharp and well defined. The case measures 36 × 37.5 × 7.5 mm. Dial: The white lacquer dial exhibits a depth and richness of finish that is impossible to serve justice in photos. The dial is free from any spidering or cracking, clean throughout with rich deep blue calendar indicators and high polished hands and faceted hour markers. The double stepped bezel 36mm case wears very well across most wrists due to the prominent dial and relatively short, downturned lugs.
