I am selling my Seiko Five automatic from January 1969:

Sober and dressed model typical of the period.
Pretty sunray gray aluminum dial, with applied indexes.
Original with its flange / its fluted / chiseled internal bezel of the most beautiful effect.
Beautiful presence on the wrist for a vintage, due to its dimensions and the shape of the case.

It is equipped with a Seiko 6119A movement:

Rare model on the second-hand market, especially in this state of conservation and with its original bracelet!

CONDITION:

The watch is in very good condition / very well preserved for a 56-year-old watch (See Photos).
Note the inevitable, but light, signs of wear on the case, glass and bracelet (See Photos).

WORKING ORDER:

The movement works well: starts immediately, keeps time (drift less than 45 s. / 24 hours), power reserve, day and date changes without any problem.
Quick date adjustment works (press the crown).
The movement does not have a quick day adjustment.
No manual winding with the crown.

OTHER:

No trace of oxidation.
The watch, including its bracelet, is entirely original.
It is currently set for a wrist of 16.5 / 17 cm, knowing that I have 2 additional links left to enlarge it by another + 2 cm.
The folding clasp has 5 holes, spaced 3.5 mm apart, for optimum adjustment.
It is sold without box or papers.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
