For sale is this vintage Seiko Lord Quartz, made in Japan in May of 1978. The Lord Quartz series was a high-end range of watches positioned just below or more or less equal to the King Quartz series (just below the top-of-the-range Grand Quartz) and was intended for young business men, as advertised by Seiko. The Lord Quartz series is very rare as they were only made for 3 short years between 1978 and 1980.  RRP was ¥45,000, which, adjusted for inflation, would have been just over $1000 ($1050) in today's money. This example, reference number QHY070, is the grey linen dial version which is bound to look good beneath a cuff of a suit. The dial radically reflects light, shifting through all shades of grey. The crystal is also not your average Seiko Hardlex, but instead uses Clearex, which was only reserved for Seiko's most high-end of the day. Clearex boasted super clear visibility, you can read the time even when it is directly reflecting the sun!  The calibre 7853 is a high-accuracy movement offering +/-10 per month and is beautiful to look at. The day of the week is bilingual and can be set to either Japanese Kanji or English (in black except for Saturday in blue and Sunday in red in both languages). The watch is in excellent condition for its age (almost 50 years old) with all the original finishing intact. Minimal general wear as expected. Good working order, all functions work as expected. Brand new battery. Original bracelet in good condition and can accommodate up to an 18cm wrist.
