When us watch nuts go hunting, it’s all about those details. The Rolex Datejust is an icon and a welcome addition to any collection, but those who are into vintage are always looking for one with a little extra somethin somethin. This is definitely that: the sought after gray dial that has started to go ghost, also picking up some sweet lavender, plus it’s a sigma dial, plus it’s got a Rolex service center card, PLUS a recent jubilee bracelet servicing by Rolliworks. This is the one to have! REFERENCE: 1603 SERIAL NUMBER: 3,263,XXX YEAR: 1972 DIAL: The Rolex gray dial is beloved for a reason, that stealth ghost affect and some awesome lavender when the light hits, just a killer combo! And you can see even under macro how clean this dial is with gorgeously aged tritium lume (hands appear to be slightly newer Rolex tritium service hands) add in a sigma dial, only done for a few years denoting gold markers, and the original open 6 date wheel and all in I don’t believe it gets better than this! CRYSTAL: Plexi crystal has wear seen at certain angles, but presents well. CASE: Really nice 36MM stainless steel case with engine turned stainless bezel. Lugs are very thick and even with great brushing on top - looks to be unpolished, incredibly sharp. Of course it does have expected wear throughout, mostly seen on the sides but also looks fantastic, just an awesome example. MOVEMENT: Comes with Rolex service center card from 2010. The Rolex automatic work horse is doing what it was designed to do - winding and setting beautifully and timegrapher numbers are fantastic at a perfect 0 seconds a day with a healthy amplitude of 308. Being from 1972 you get the addition of hacking seconds hand which is great to have. BRACELET: Comes complete with its original date stamped Rolex jubilee bracelet that was just serviced by Rolliworks (with receipt, to the tune of nearly 600 bucks) Bracelet is super tight now, with only minimal wear on the clasp, and will fit up to about a 7.4 inch wrist.
