This piece was made around 1970–71. This reference comes in a 36mm monoblock stainless steel case, sharp and well-finished with a mix of brushing and polished surfaces that give it real wrist presence without being oversized. What sets this example apart is the rare blue sunburst dial, a color not often seen on King Seikos of the period. The way it plays with the light is beautiful, shifting from deep navy to bright electric blue depending on the angle. Paired with clean rectangular indices and stick hands, the whole look is sharp, simple, and timeless. Inside beats the high-beat Caliber 5626 automatic, running at 28,800 bph. It’s a chronometer-grade movement with manual winding, hacking seconds, and a dual-language day-date display (English/Kanji). The quickset date via the crown makes it practical, while the day disc in Kanji adds that extra bit of charm for collectors. Flip it over and you’ll find the monoblock caseback with the gold King Seiko medallion, a signature detail from this line. Lug width is 18mm, making strap changes easy and versatile. The watch is in great shape for its age, with scratches fitting for its age. The crystal is flawless, with clean bezel. Dial can see some discoloration in the middle part which happened naturally over time. The watch has been serviced, so it’s keeping excellent time.
