Here is a little beauty (which I unfortunately did not manage to photograph satisfactorily) - an Eterna with the hand-wound caliber 1409U from around 1953/54. It has a few signs of wear (which are barely visible without a magnifying glass) and has not been polished. The case, movement, and dial are truly beautifully crafted; which makes it surprising that Eterna is hardly ever mentioned in the same breath as more prestigious companies (such as Omega or Longines).

The case measures 33.2 mm. The crown should be the original. Coin edge design with a wide and flat bezel, somewhat “fat lugs,” everything appears very solid and strong.

The movement looks almost like new. For the given movement dimensions (12.5“, 28.2 mm), it has a huge screw balance (quote: ”indirectly driven minute allows a relatively big balance, design similar to the Zenith 135"), beautifully shaped plates, no frills, no ETA appeal.

The dial (“gilt,” i.e., black on gold, not gold on black) has a slight patina, which could also be called a “lively look.” Radium equipement in optimal condition.
