Released in 2012, it marked the debut of the now-iconic Black Bay line , a collection that helped relaunch the brand into the spotlight after years of relative quiet. Inside the 79220R, the watch is powered by the modified ETA 2824 movement, which gives it a certain charm that sets it apart from the newer models featuring Tudor's in-house calibers. This 41mm Black Bay is a nod to Tudor's rich history, with a classic design that blends vintage dive watch aesthetics with modern appeal. The standout feature is the "Smiley Face" dial, where the curving text between the center and the 6 o'clock marker subtly indicates the ETA movement inside. It’s a quirky detail that adds personality to an already iconic model.
