This is a re-buy for me that didn't work out. Although the Fortis is a cracking watch with real space-going history that wears like a 40mm, I find myself reaching for other chronographs in my collection. Thus, this classic just isn't getting the wrist time it deserves, and it's time to move it along.

The good: even among the increasingly rare 38mm Cosmonaut Chronographs, this watch contains the even more rare stick dial with (again rare) countdown bezel (the fixed tachymeter bezels were more common). The bezel has the tritium triangle intact.

The case and bracelet are in very good condition with no scratches on the case, with the exception of the undersides of the lugs. There are some desk-diving scratches on the clasp. No nicks on case or crystal. Valjoux 7750 movement is running strong. Chronograph starts, stops, and resets as it should. Day and date change as they should, with no issues adjusting either from the crown. Crown unscrews and screws as it should. Screw-down pushers operate as they should.

Importantly, this is a full set with the leatherette pouch - not box. This means the watch comes with:

• Original leather strap with signed buckle
• Original signed one-piece velcro strap
• Original signed strap changing tool
• Original booklet

The bad: Although the movement is running strong, it cannot be wound by the crown currently. I suspect the crown clutch needs replacement.

Given the age of the pouch, the embossing on the front has worn.

As the watch has a tritium dial and bezel triangle, the lume on both is dead.
