For sale is a beautiful vintage International Watch Co. solid gold piece with automatic caliber 8531 movement. This is a reference 603A, probably one of the rarest vintage IWC models out there. I also have a solid gold IWC buckle that I can include for an additional $250, these typically auction for about $400. The case is fantastic, each "level" (from the bezel down to the mid case and around to the bottom) has chamfered edges on both sides, and all of them are excellent and sharp. The lugs are short but have a tall wedge shape to them which really adds to the watch's presence. They're also sharp, and the original recessed fish-logo crown is present. The champagne gold colored dial is original. Serial numbers date this to the early 1960's, and the case and movement serials align The watch features the caliber 8531 automatic movement, which winds and sets smoothly and is keeping excellent time with good amplitude and virtually no beat error (see Imgur album for timegrapher shot). The date changes over at midnight. As with all IWC 85 series movements, this utilizes the legendary and highly efficient Pellaton winding system. The case measures 35mm wide, with a 39mm lug to lug, and is 10.8mm thick with the crystal. Lugs are 17mm.
