Greetings Watchexchange! Up for sale is a spectacular November 1980 Seiko Silverwave 8229-7030 with an intricate vertically brushed dial. The silverwave lineup represents Seiko moving towards watches with water resistance, featuring a screw down crown and caseback. The 35mm case is lightly polished, maintaining original geometry and has an 18mm lug width, the watch comes supplied on a beautiful aftermarket 18mm black leather strap. The 8229 movement features day and date and a bilingual (English/Kanji) day wheel and has received a fresh battery. It keeps time within the intended accuracy of +-15 seconds per month. The watch has an aftermarket mineral crystal which is completely scratch free. The vertically brushed dial is in excellent condition and has little to no signs of age (view attached macro photographs). The applied baton markers are sloped at the edges, and catch light and glisten at different lighting angles giving a very lively effect along with the dial. For those curious, the emblem at 6 o'clock represents a quartz crystal oscillator, it was an insignia featured on most vintage Seiko quartz watches.
