The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a bidirectional divers bezel that is set with a black divers insert. The Sea-Dweller is mounted on its original 93150 Oyster bracelet that is stamped with a “VC” clasp code, which corresponds to a production date of 1978. The 93150 Oyster bracelet contains 10 full size links, and will comfortably fit a 7.1 inch wrist. The Rolex features a black dial with tritium hour markers, polished white gold tritium coated hands, and a date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The tritium hour markers and hands have aged exceptionally well, and acquired an even and rich custard colored patina. The movement used in the 1665 is the Rolex Caliber 1520.

The case on the 1665 has been preserved exceptionally well and remains unpolished with crisp chamfers and strong brush lines. The bezel insert has also been preserved well, with the only noteworthy imperfection being that it is missing its lume pip at 12 o’clock. The unpolished 93150 Oyster bracelet has stood the test of time extremely well and contains virtually no stretch, remaining in approximately 95% condition, while the coronet on the clasp is as crisp as it was when it left the factory. The Rolex’s dial and hands are free of any imperfections, while the acrylic crystal does contain some surface level scuffs that could be removed by a light buff.

Overall the Sea-Dweller is in excellent vintage condition and is a truly exceptional untouched example of a legendary 1665 Sea-Dweller. Furthermore, the 1665 was purchased directly from the son of its original owner, thus making this a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional all original example of a MK1 1665, which is completely untouched.
