Up for sale is a beautiful 62MAS re-interpretation from Seiko’s premium SLA line. The SLA043 features the 8L35 movement (what is essentially an unregulated Grand Seiko automatic) running at between -1 to +5 on my wrist. Ever Brilliant steel, which is more corrosion resistant, similar to Rolex steel. Beautiful blue dial, box sapphire crystal for vintage vibes, sub 40mm case. Lume is crazy bright. Polished, applied indices. It’s a gorgeous piece. If you’re reading this, you probably already know… these retailed for $4k new. Full kit, inner and outer box, warranty card from Japan, both the black rubber (like new) and blue rubber (unworn) straps. Watch is in excellent condition - crystal is mint, there is a tiny mark on the bezel that can be seen at certain angles, but usually is invisible to the eye. Case is excellent - edges are razor sharp as you’d expect from a piece at this level. In the right light, there are a couple what would be considered swirlies on the non-crown case side, but barely visible even in the right light. Case back has swirlies from wearing on nato etc. minimal if any marks from strap changes. *** Crown threads in but appears to have been cross threaded at some point. It threads in only about a quarter turn (securely). All crown functions work as they should in terms of setting time, date, etc, but from a water resistance standpoint, I’d recommend getting this replaced. ** also, this must go to Seiko for the service - I’ve had local watchmakers try to source a new crown and Seiko says it has to go back. Just a fair heads up. I shot a video of it to try to show what does and does not function correctly. In similar condition (but with correctly functioning crown), these sell for around $2500.
