For sale is a neo-vintage Sinn 144 in titanium, complete with its factory titanium bracelet (a rarity in itself) and original papers/receipt. The use of titanium in this out-of-production watch sets it apart from its more common steel siblings. This is due to titanium’s superiority to steel in at least two respects: density and thermal conductivity. This watch is seriously light, which greatly enhances its wearability. Head to head, a steel Sinn 144 comes in at 90g, while this in titanium at only 66g. In terms of thermal conductivity, on the one hand titanium doesn’t get as cold/hot as steel, while on the other it gets cooler/warmer quicker than steel. This matters especially in colder climates, making everyday wear that much more comfortable. Its size and shape bolsters this wearability on a wide assortments of wrists, with a 40.8cm diameter face set within a classic ‘70s tonneau case. The watch just came back from a full service from my watchmaker and is in good condition, with some light scratches from desk diving. There is a small scratch on the crystal that is almost impossible to see/capture. The movement rotor bears the name of a previous owner, but can be switched out easily by any watchmaker if so desired. It will come with a Sinn titanium bracelet, which has three micro-adjustment holes. The bracelet is a link or two larger than my 7” wrist. No box, but original purchase receipt, warranty, user manual. The pictured tan strap is not included.
