hello all! i have a mod i’ve been meaning to do for a long time now! I wanted to toy with the idea of making a dress watch— something for a formal occasion/ something super simple and black. so doing some research, i find that musou black is one of the blackest paints commercially available, and i sourced a dial to use for the build! I was going to originally use a watch with a vh31 movement in it as well, but I also really wanted to do a hydromod— when you put oils into a watch to get it amazing legibility and water resistance. i wanted to do it originally because of that crazy effect you get at extreme angles— it’s the the dial and hands are pushed up all the way against the crystal! anyways, vh31 battery life wouldn’t cut it for me, so i found a watch base that provided a 10-year battery so i don’t have to worry about frequent battery changes! and with battery-life on my mind, i also sourced silicone oils with 5cst— factors less viscous that the 50cst silicone oils most modders use if they ever atttempt this. in theory, this should cut the battery consumption drastically than using the more common 50cst oil. anyways, long story short i was finally able to complete and assemble this watch i’ve been wanting to build for months. i will say there are slight imperfections for it being my first time, but i’ll bump the price to something i think is reasonable with that in mind this watch actually measures 35mm across— it sounds super super small, but honestly, putting it side by side with my skx013, they look so similar in size. i’d say it wears like a 37mm or 36.5mm. lug to lug is 41mm with thickness of 11mm and lug width of 18mm just a push/pull crown, and also contains the miyota 2s60 quartz movement with date— so it does have a ghost date position in the crown. again, 10 year battery, but with the hydromod is hard to say how much that cuts the battery. i want to throw an estimate of hopefully something like 3 years? who knows hahaha sapphire glass here too! i’m asking ~~$205~~ $160 via USPS priority shipping for this watch. again, refer to photos for the imperfections please reach out with any questions! thank you!
