There is some wear which is consistent with a watch of this age. The 18K gold plated 925 silver case is nice, reflecting some gold plating fade in between the lugs. This example of the Cartier Tank features a highly desirable midnight blue “Lapis Lazuli” lacquered dial speckled with gold, like bright stars in a midnight sky. The watch is powered by the manual winding Cartier Caliber 78-1 which keeps satisfactory time for a vintage piece. The brand new black Epsom leather strap was custom made to compliment the elegant silhouette of the Tank. The Epsom leather was sourced from Tanneries Haas, an award winning tannery since 1842 and now under the Chanel Group.
