An ultra rare Seiko Speedtimer JDM variant in great condition. Striking Blue satin finished sunburst dial with a light green subdial and raised faceted indexes. Orange popping second hand. Cool retro rally design. Comes with Seiko signed solid bracelet. Unique Cushion shaped robust case. Build quality is very sublime and high-end. Caliber 6139 is one of the best movements Seiko ever made. A column wheel automatic chronograph movmeent at this price is unbelievable to come by. Movement has been serviced. Great time keeping. Chronograph resets to 12. All chronograph functions are working fine. Amazing condition at 50 year old, ready to be used as a daily driver. Such pieces should be appreciated upfront to experience at full measure, pictures don't do justice to this beauty. Sunlight brings out most of its beauty. They were designed to have premium build quality but for only regions of Japan. The polish is insane with sharp brushed lines and mirror finishing. Handling it, I can definitely guarantee this is superior to modern watches of the same price zone. Only released for Japanese domestic market , also bought from an owner in Japan. Comes with English and Japanese day wheel. The Kanji(Japanese) date highly complements the dial. One of the many thick funky case designs by the brand. The colors are funky and innovative on this piece, makes a statement of Japanese design.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
