Hello,

I am selling my original Q Timex Pepsi from 1979:

The Timex brand, initially named “Waterbury Clock Company” in reference to its location, was founded in 1854 in the United States.
Iconic model of the brand, which was reissued in 2019, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the model:

The 1979 Q Timex was released with several bezel colors:

Rare in base, but even more in this state of conservation, with its original bracelet and box!

SPECIFICATIONS:

CONDITION:

The watch is in very good condition for a 44-year-old watch (See Photos).
Note mainly the hour hand which is missing material inside the circle, the crown which is pitted as well as marks on the folding clasp, but nothing shocking for its age.

WORKING ORDER:

The movement remained at a standstill for several years.
A new battery was installed in mid-December and the original Timex M66 movement started up straight away.
I have been wearing it continuously for a week and it works very well: keeping the time, changing the day, changing the date.
On the other hand, it has stopped once, so assume that the mechanical part of the movement should be revised so that it doesn't happen again.
As standard, the movement is not equipped with quick day and date settings. To set the day, you must set it manually by turning the hands to the correct day. Then to set the date, you have to go back and forth between midnight and 9:30 p.m., like on certain mechanical watches (semi-rapid adjustment):

The watch is on the correct day and date.

OTHER:

The watch, including its bracelet, is entirely original.
The bracelet is currently adjusted for a wrist of 16.5/17 cm. Note that I have 3 links left (+ 1.6 cm) as well as 2 fine adjustment holes at the level of the folding clasp (+ 7.5 mm), allowing it to be further enlarged by + 2.3 cm.
It is sold with its original box, which is missing the removable support.
Pure product of globalization from the end of the 70's, with an American brand, a dial and a movement with the "Taiwan" logo, a case with the "Case France Timex" logo and a bracelet with the "Made in Hong Kong" logo.
