Our Take
The 16220 straddles between the perfect blend of vintage and modern. The ref. 16220 was among the first five-digit offerings within the Datejust family, and importantly one of the first to also use a sapphire crystal. This example features a stainless steel "engine-turned" bezel and a sought-after grey dial. This watch is the perfect blend if you're looking for a more sporty semi-vintage Datejust.

This particular ref. 16220 is in excellent pre-owned condition, meaning there are very light signs of wear with age. The watch just received a full inspection from our watchmaker and had new factory gaskets installed in the crystal, case back, and crown installed for proper water resistance. In addition, we replaced the crystal with a new sapphire crystal and gasket.
