On offer is this AWESOME Rolex 1601 Datejust SS/14K yellow gold from 1963 with serial number 908,XXX that is in very good condition. The 36mm case has been polished in its 61 year existence but retains good lines and uniform lugs. The yellow gold winding crown screws down tight and the factory low dome (rounded edges) crystal is without scratches and/or nicks. Correct open 6's and 9's. The lovely bronze 'ghost sigma' dial is in very good condition and just goes so well with the original dauphine hands. Lume on both the hands and the dial still glow when exposed to ultraviolet light. Yellow gold fluted bezel is in very good condition and still fairly sharp. The workhorse caliber 1560 movement is clean and without any issues. The watch is running good and is keeping time within COSC standards however, I don't know when it was last serviced. I will ship with a brand new, black Horween strap as shown. This combination is just striking and the strap is soooooo soft! $3,495 plus actual shipping will get you this really sharp 1601 from 1963!
