Next up from the personal collection is what my family has come to know as my "Christmas Watch." Which means I've only worn it once a year since acquiring in 2018 from a reputable vintage Hamilton collector I met through the Instagram #WIS community. A 1963 Hamilton Thinline 4500 This study in texture juxtaposition features a faceted crystal atop a one-piece case with a 10K white gold filled bezel in a Florentine pattern and an integrated stainless steel back. This is a front-loader, which means the dial is accessed by removing the faceted crystal. The silver dial is accented with thin blued steel (black) baton hands that are stunning in contrast with the clean steel dial, the Florentine hash marks of the bezel and the watch's Thinline body. Details: Movement: 17-jewel Swiss-made Hamilton 687 movement. Ticking and keeping good time. Dial: All Original. Untouched. Absolutely a knockout. Handset: These blues steel baton hands are stunning. I tried to capture them under the loupe. Pics don't do it justice. Crown: Original, signed Hamilton "H." Crystal: Original Hamilton faceted crystal. Very minor surface scratches. Hardly visible. Case: Incredible condition. I balk at stating NOS, but this is pretty damn close. See case back and side pics. Bracelets (there are two) : This watch comes with the original JB champion stainless steel flex bracelet that came with the watch. It actually matches the Florentine bezel motif of the bezel. It *also* comes with a period-correct stainless steel aftermarket Kreisler bracelet that I put on the watch, as I didn't want to get any dings on the stunning original. The Kreisler is fitted for my 7 inch wrist. No extra links, but there is about an extra 0.4 inch that could be attained by adjusting the pins in the clasp. Dimensions: Case width: 33 mm Width w/ crown: 35 mm Thickness: Just a bit under 8 mm (it's soooo thin) Lug (band) width: 17 mm Lug to lug width: 36 mm This watch has been impeccably cared for and worn only a handful of times. Its a great watch.
