"**The Watch:** When you think of Blancpain, the first things that come to mind are probably the Fifty Fathoms diver collection, and turn-of-the-century styled formal watches. You probably aren’t picturing a robust sports watch, yet beginning in 1994 and lasting until the mid 2010’s, Blancpain had a series that fit this niche: the Leman (introduced as the 2100). Today we have a 2002 example from that collection in the Leman Moonphase (2763-1127A-53), which is, in fact, a complete calendar (moonphase + day and date). It cuts a perfect line between sporty (the sturdy, 38mm stepped case, 5-link bracelet, screwdown crown, 100m water resistance, lumed hands) and formal (the skeletonized hands, applied roman numerals, multiple complications, the Blancpain brand). A showstopper when the light hits all the silvered points on the dial and hands.
