For sale is my vintage Grand Seiko 6145-8000 with the rarer early variant dial which is IMHO has a much cleaner aesthetic that is similar to the 44GS - without the "Automatic" beneath the Seiko logo and "Grand Seiko" instead of "Hi-Beat 36000" under the GS logo.

Condition is probably the best i have seen for this reference especially the case which retains its original alternating brushed and polished finish with some scratches seen. Looks unpolished to me. Beautiful original dial. i will let the pictures do the talking. I have also included some (iphone) pics in natural lighting with some strap pairing ideas.

The calibre 6145 (first group of GS hi beat automatic movement beating at 36000 bph) is running well. Service history is unknown.

Case size is 36 mm. Price is $1350 including worldwide DHL shipping. Watch is located in Singapore. I will not be accepting returns and all sales are final so kindly ask all questions before hand. I can accept paypal (f&f) / wise / bank transfer. I have transacted many times on this forum with positive feedback.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house.
