***IF YA DIG IT DON’T FORGET TO UPVOTE - THANKS!*** Hard to beat the class of a vintage Rolex Datejust. Especially when talking about an icon within the Datejust line, the pie pan dialed reference 1601. At first this one appears to be a regular silver sunburst dial, and it is that, but it’s also a lesser seen no lume version, which they made for the Japanese market (as they weren’t using tritium) AND it’s also a doorstop dial, named that due to the larger markers at 6 and 9. It’s a classic with a little bit of extra sauce! REF: 1601 YEAR: 1970 DIAL: Beautiful no lume door stop dial! The silver sunburst pops in the light, and the lettering is crisp and clean, all in just a gorgeous example! CRYSTAL: The vintage plexi crystal is in good shape with wear throughout, mostly light scratches and one nick on the edge. CASE: The 36MM previously polished stainless case is in really nice shape with just regular wear, mostly seen on the case sides. That classic solid 18 karat white gold fluted bezel shines beautifully, with light patina. Case back has what appears to be the original Japanese AD sticker. MOVEMENT: Service history unknown but winding and setting smoothly, with date changing over as it should, and timegrapher showing 19 seconds a day with an amplitude of 240. BRACELET: Comes on it’s original date stamped (early 1971, common as bracelets were added after) folded link Rolex jubilee bracelet. Appears to be full size, will fit up to almost 8.25 inches, with less than average stretch given the age and size.
