Of course we all know and love Tudor, incredible resurgence over the last 12 years with the smash hit Black Bay line, but they’ve been making fantastic watches since 1926 when Hans Wilsdorf (the man behind Rolex) decided he wanted to offer up a watch at “a more modest price.” Tudor was born, bringing Rolex quality, at a lower price point and, as we’ve seen, a little more design flare. This Tudor Prince Date brings all that to the table - like getting a Rolex Oyster Date with a unique black dial, on Jubilee, in a full set at a fraction of the cost! REFERENCE: 74000 SERIAL: H5542XX YEAR: 2003 DIAL: Really cool black dial, this is a variant you don’t see often in the US. Alternating hour markers and numerals, Tudor shield, silver writing and some great lume makes for a sweet combo! Even under macro, incredibly clean, including the sapphire crystal. CASE: 34mm stainless case appears unpolished with super sharp lines and great brushing on the lugs. Light wear throughout, as you would expect but presents beautifully and feels larger than the numbers would indicate given the oyster case (photographed on my 6.6 inch wrist.) MOVEMENT: Service history unknown but the automatic movement is working beautifully, hand winding and setting is very smooth, and timegrapher showing within COSC at 3 seconds a day and a very healthy amplitude of 318! BRACELET: Comes on its original Tudor jubilee bracelet that will fit up to app. 7.25 inches. It’s a fantastic bracelet, reminiscent of a Rolex jubilee but with slightly larger links giving it a bit more of a solid feel. Light wear throughout, a little bit on the clasp, but presents super clean. ACCESSORIES: Rarely found full collector set: outer Tudor box cardboard box, inner Tudor leather box (with storage wear) original punched paperwork, original serialized hangtag, and original booklet - awesome to find this complete!
